Teachers play an important role in education and students´mistakes are part of the process. In this sense, the teachers need to manage and choose suitable techniques and strategies. They depend on different factors that are involved, but teachers should be aware of the main purposes to apply them.

  • Teachers needs to be conscious of ignoring mistakes or selecting a strategy or technique to correct considering it can be counterproductive when learners are afraid of making mistakes.
  • Try to create an autonomous correction where students be more independent of the teacher. They can self or peer-correct.
  •  Vary techniques or strategies to correct mistakes. Find new ways students correct themselves or the teacher can help.
  • Notice if learners make the same mistakes, it means it is frequently made from the majority of students. They need to reinforce or practice more in that area of language learning. On the other hand, if few students make mistakes, the teacher needs to give a special help and concentrate on them.
