What is Grammar?
Grammar is found at the moment you speak read, listen or write, but do you know what the concept of gramar is.
Basically, grammar is the combination, organization and the change of words or group of words to give meaning with the purpose of give or receive a message. Moreover, as teachers, gramar is taught in class explaining their combination, forms and uses.
There are two ways in which gramar is constructed:
1. Prescriptive grammar
It is the rules and the structure previously set of the language that you must follow when you use the grammar. Otherwise, you are speaking or writing incorrectly.
Incorrect: My father are working in the school.
Correct: My father is working in the school.
2. Descriptive grammar
It is described as how people use grammar in a language. Rules are not taken in consideration and people are not jugde if they speak or write incorrectly.
