A squeme of work helps us to plan a sequence of lessons in the best way to cover the school syllabus or the units of a coursebook in the time available. Schemes of work are not as detailed as lesson plans, these have a logical and learning-friendly progression and good balance of approaches and activities. These help us to identify our aims and choose the correct materials and procedures to match those aims.
