SELECTION AND USE OF COURSEBOOK MATERIALS

Coursebook materials mainly have three functions with the language to be applied:
- Present language
- Practice language
- Develop language skills
That's why coursebook materials contain the materials in a coursebook package that are used in the class.
Examples, teacher´s view, student's book, audio and video recordings.
The teacher´s book | Tapescript, audio script, transcript. | Exactly what the learners hear in a written version. |
Workbook or activity book | CD-ROOM, material for an interactive whiteboard, extra material on a website. | A book with extra practice material. |
Teachers select their coursebook and supplementary materials according to their students´ profile and their purposes with them. It helps to portray how the students are developing, their similarities and differences with the lessons.
